Dorenvar
A paved road crossing a golden valley toward pale cliff cities, the sea on the far horizon at sunset.

Free-to-play action fantasy MMORPG

A world remade. A peace ready to break.

Magic here was never infinite. It was spent — nearly all of it — to end a war that tore a continent in half. Two powers have watched each other across that wound ever since. Something is pulling at the seam.

The game

What kind of game is Dorenvar?

An action fantasy MMORPG, free to play. Dorenvar is an online world you share with other players, where you aim every swing and spell yourself and the roads don’t come with a quest arrow.

A shared world

Dorenvar is an MMORPG. Its roads, towns and wilds are shared with other players. Travel alone, or form a party of up to five.

Combat you aim

Real-time and third-person. You aim every strike, spell and arrow yourself, and where you stand decides the fight.

Two factions, eight races

Join the Concord or the Scarred Dominion, then choose from four races on each side. Both choices are permanent.

Nine classes

Hold the line, keep a party alive, strike from the shadows, or change shape mid-fight. Every class fills its own role.

Both sides of the Sundersea

Quest across regions on two continents, joined by Concord ships and the Dominion’s skyway.

Free to play, never pay-to-win

Embers, an optional currency, buy conveniences such as extra character slots. They never buy power.

The nine classes

The world remembers

Something enormous happened here. You can still see where.

Roads run to the cliff edge and stop. Rivers finish their course on the far shore. Harbours face open water with nothing left to receive. The history books argue about who did it. The coastline doesn’t.

Aurethain
Twenty minutes of open road with the same mountain growing on the horizon the whole way. Broad valleys, old forests, monumental pale stone, distance you have to earn.
Varkesh
Cross one ridge and everything changes — climate, culture, vertical layer, who is shooting at whom. Rift cities, volcanic basins, glider routes, three more territories already in view.
The Sundersea
Not a border. A wound. The facing coasts still match strata for strata, and both sides guard the crossing like the thing it is.
A painted map of Dorenvar on aged vellum: the forested, snow-capped continent of Aurethain to the west and the fractured, volcanic continent of Varkesh to the east, divided by the deep channel of the Sundersea.
Two continents. Fifty-two regions in the current world plan. Two routine ways across — and each faction holds one of them.

“Borders closed two generations ago. The treaty held. Nobody alive remembers agreeing to it.”

A saying on both sides of the Sundersea
Two visions of survival

Pick a side. You don’t get to switch.

Neither of these is the evil empire. They are two answers to the same catastrophe, and each is convinced the other is already breaking the treaty. One of them is going to be right first.

A Concord hill-city of pale stone and gold domes rising in ceremonial terraces, hung with blue-and-gold banners above a green valley.
The Concord

Four races. One argument, held in public.

They rebuilt by refusing to do it alone — shared roads, mixed capitals, a council that debates everything on the record. It works. It is also the seam an enemy would pry at first.

Pale hill-cities and grain roads. Blue-and-gold heraldry. Archives missing exactly the pages you want.

A Scarred Dominion rift city: tiered basalt terraces and gold-and-teal canopies stepping down a chasm lit from below by forge fire, iron bridges spanning the gap.
The Scarred Dominion

They built their capital inside the wound.

Hard country, harder politics, no patience for a plan that only works in good weather. Say what you will do and then do it, and there is a place for you here — whatever you are.

Rift terraces and forge light. Airship lines strung between cliffs. A contest with rules, and consequences for breaking them.

Eight playable races

Choose once. Carry it the whole way.

Your race is not a skin. It sets your homeland, your allies, the roads open to you, and which version of the past you were raised to believe. Roll another and you will learn things your first character never finds out.

The Concord
A Concord Human trader in road-worn leather beside a lantern on a rain-wet timber street at dusk.

Concord Human

Traders, builders, frontier organisers. The ones who notice when caravan losses stop looking like bad luck.

A colossal Voren stone-wright with granite skin and brass harness setting a dressed block on a mountain quarry terrace.

Voren

Mountain-scale stone-wrights. Their ancestors healed the broken earth — so why is healed stone cracking again, in a straight line?

A Thaeli steward on a woven walkway among grown spiral homes, flower canopies and channelled water.

Thaeli

They grow their cities instead of cutting them — and they know the difference between growth and health. Something in the soil has forgotten it.

A blue-skinned Solmara scholar holding a brass armillary instrument above a turquoise lagoon city of glass domes.

Solmara

Scholars of tide, light and oath. They keep the finest archive in the world, and the gaps in it are not accidents.

The Scarred Dominion
A Dominion Human engineer-forewoman in work leathers above a terraced volcanic settlement of scaffolding and steaming vents.

Dominion Human

Same ancestors as the Concord, a different century of hard choices. They make volcanic ground pay rent and they don’t romanticise it.

A Kaldreth elder with obsidian skin and ember-lit cracks in gold ceremonial harness, above a volcanic upland of banners and heat vents.

Kaldreth

Obsidian skin, ember seams, and a culture that settles things face to face. Their fights have rules — and someone has started breaking them and blaming the clans.

A Vantik windkin mid-glide on a cream-and-gold wing beside cliff rookery platforms and pennants.

Vantik

Windkin of the cliff rookeries, the fastest travellers alive. Half their homeland ended up on the other continent, and they have never let it go.

A Kovar with pale metallic skin and cyan seams in gold-trimmed robes, in a luminous subterranean hall of resonance light.

Kovar

Metal-skinned, gold-eyed, and not originally from this world. They keep their history in resonance and ritual — and even they can no longer read all of it.

The player promise

No quest arrow. No safe roads.

Aim it yourself

Third-person, over the shoulder. Telegraphs you can read, dodges you have to time, positioning that decides fights. Your stats don’t swing the sword for you.

Navigate like a traveller

Follow the road, the smoke, the tower on the ridge, the innkeeper’s directions. You build the map in your head — and getting lost is part of the deal.

Your choice sticks

Race and faction are permanent. They decide your homeland, your welcome, your crossings, and which half of the truth you get told.

A world worth living in

Trade, craft, ecology, families, local trouble, bad jokes in good taverns. The war is not the only reason to be out there.

These are the design pillars for a project in active development — what Dorenvar is being built to deliver, not a claim that any feature is finished or guaranteed at launch.

The World Remembers

Teaser in development — captions and transcript will ship with it.

From the narration

“Once, power enough to remake life burned across Dorenvar. To end an age of war, the world spent nearly all of it. What remained became memory — written into stone, tide, flame, root, and wind.”

Now two continents watch one another across the Sundersea. And beyond every city wall, the road is calling.
